Life Is Good

I can’t believe it is the weekend before Christmas and I have nothing to do.  I have finished shopping, cleaning, delivering gifts and all the other things that go with the holidays.  All I have to do is sit back and enjoy.

One thing that saved a bunch of time this year is not wrapping as many presents.  My son felt that wrapping his and his brothers presents were a waste of paper (Mr. Eco Friendly) so I got a box for each child that was big enough to whole all of their gifts and therefore, each only has one wrapped present under the tree.

I also didn’t buy for as many people this year.  So less time shopping and less time wrapping.  Not to mention less money spent.

We will do some baking for fun over the next few days and just enjoy the holidays.

Have a great and relaxing weekend.

  3. I think relaxation and enjoying being with loved ones is what the holidays should be about – and baking, of course 🙂

We don’t wrap many gifts, either. My daughter is eco-conscious, and because our kids are young, we find the day much more relaxing if all the toys are assembled with any batteries inserted so all they have to do is play with them. Otherwise we spend most of Christmas morning trying to open packaging and figure out how to make stuff work.

    Merry Christmas!!

  4. I am jealous. I am the world’s worst folder, so wrapping presents is not at the top of my list for favorite things. I am horrible at it. I’m glad I don’t have too many to do.

  10. One idea for an eco-conscious family would be re-usable wrapping. After Christmas, head to the fabric store and buy a bunch of fabric on sale, sew them up into different size bags (think pillowcases) and wrap a cute piece of twine or yarn around them to close them up. They are earth friendly, budget friendly, quick to wrap each year, and still allow your kids the fun of guessing what is in each of their gifts each year.

  11. Isn’t it wonderful? I’m finished, except for prepping dinner for Christmas Eve (grocery shopping…etc.)

I may have time tomorrow to write out Christmas cards…something I haven’t been able to do in years!

    What are you baking?
