I’m Being Tempted

I have my Christmas list just about finished.  I decided I wouldn’t go out on Black Friday because I would probably end up buying stuff I don’t need.

I have two presents and two giftcards left to purchase.  I have seen a few great sales that I could buy a present instead of giving the giftcards and actually save about $50.  Also with the two gifts that I have to buy I could probably save another $30-$40.

I am so tempted to go out at 4 am Friday morning.  I just don’t know if I will be able to control the spending.  I know I have seen a few items that are on my personal list of I’ll buy when on sale so I could also pick these items up.

I’ll have to weigh the pros and cons and decide if I should stay home.

Do you plan to go shopping Friday morning?

  1. Hi there-I’ve heard everyone talking about Black Friday, it must be similiar to our Boxing day (26 December) when the sales start? Why don’t you go and if you get tempted, as long as its a list item, then get it.

  2. I may venture out, but for something I want for myself! I really need a laptop for blogging, Mr M and I share one old dinosaur of a computer. I’m doing most of my shopping online, in fact I already got a lot of it done. Last year we headed out on black Friday but not till noon, by that time everything we wanted was gone!

  3. We don’t have black Friday. But we have boxing day! Why not take cash with you. Take just enough to buy the items on your list. Walk into the stores with blinders on and pick up only what you went in for. Or take a fixed amount on top of what you need to buy the gifts and tell yourself that if you see something on your personal list at an unbelievable price you will reward yourself by just purchasing that item. I would take advantage of the opportunity to save money. Good Luck! Tell us what you end up doing 🙂

  4. I went out for the BF deals…it was the only way I could afford the presents this Christmas. It does help to only take in cash for the things you know you will be getting.

  5. Wow! Well done! I haven’t even started my holiday shopping yet!

I’m in the UK (like Sharon Rose), and Black Friday isn’t really as big here as it is in the US. But I will definitely try to take advantage of some great online sales nonetheless 😉

  6. Friday is Buy Nothing Day, so, least you’re not alone.

  7. I have never shopped on a Black Friday and I probably never will unless you count online shopping. You see….I used to work retail.
