Christmas Shopping Update

My Christmas shopping is really moving along.  I have two presents left to purchase and two gift cards to pick up.  I have only spent $297.  The other items left to get will cost less than$300.  So I will probably be $400 under budget.

One of the important things about this year is that I have put more thought into each gift.  In past years there was so many people to buy for I would eventually just buy something.

Now just to be able to get the rest finished up without having to go out on Black Friday.

  1. I think I’m doing away with Christmas presents. It’s gonna be charity donations instead. Just thinking about the starving people with no clean water in Africa just makes me cringe using my money to buy people things they might not even appreciate.

  2. Congrats on the successful Christmas shopping. It’s amazing how much less stressful the holidays are when you work a plan. I am usually done shopping by October. I start in January. This year is the exception, I didn’t finish until last week.

  4. All of you down in the US are talking about Black Friday today! I almost wish I lived there so I could join in the insanity! 😉

Well done on coming in so much under budget!

  6. My wife and I are telling friends and family members that we’re not doing gifts this year. It’s not what we want, but what we have to do. Also, to save money, we went hiking and found a “Charlie Brown tree” and decorated it with $3 lights from Wal-Mart.

It’s added some holiday cheer here, without costing us anything. There’s always a cheap way to participate in the holidays. Just don’t get down (in general).
